Experience Europe Through VR

Before travelers just had a brochure or information on the website to inform their choices. Virtual reality allows them to get a true sense of the hotel and the excursions they can go on–it’s been a real game changer for us.”-Marco Ryan, CDO, Thomas Cook

Sooner than later, Virtual Reality will be part of your travel experience and so will change the way you travel. You may find yourself using it for choosing your destination, booking a hotel room or to distract you during the flight. The travel industry has been quick to adapt its facilities to keep pursuing customer satisfaction. This is the case of travel agencies like Thomas Cook which is recently offering customers VR experiences in selected stores to help them choose among a wide variety of options.

However. this is very new and therefore not available everywhere, neither for all wallets. Meanwhile, we propose you a few of VR experiences you can enjoy during your trip around Europe – so you don’t go back home without having a snack!

Enversed – The Netherlands

Known as one of the biggest and best VR Centres of Europe, Enversed is located in the Eindhoven’ Strijp-S area, which by itself is a cool place to visit within the Netherlands. This space claims to offer mind-blowing experiences with the most recent VR technologies, proving a wide variety of games in which you can fight against drones, practice your shooting or combat your fear of heights by trying the paragliding simulator. You can also book a VR-room to have a training session or even learn a few cooking recipes. If you are a VR lover, this is your place.
Golem VR – Prague

Right in the heart of Prague, you’ll be teleported to its streets at the end of the 16th century to find out the secrets that the city hides. You’ll experience more than 300 square meters of multisensory fun, being able to play with friends and family. Golem VR provides a unique option to discover Prague from a very different perspective.

VR Café – Vienna

If you happen to visit Vienna and want to make an “unusual” stop, you can always propose your friends to go grab some drinks at the first VR Café in Europe. They dispose of the newest VR sets such as the HTC Vive Pro glasses, that provide their clients a truly immersive experience, diving into other worlds, playing together or against each other.

Making Art Available Through Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality also serves a greater purpose by making art available to blind and visually impaired people. NeuroDigital Technologies have been developing gloves, enabling users to feel VR. With the collaboration of Leontinka Foundation and the National Gallery of Prague, they came up with the art exhibition “Touching Masterpieces” in Prague. The head of Nefertiti, the Venus de Milo, and David by Michelangelo are the three masterpieces that were replicated in the virtual space. This project is the first VR experience which enables blind people to “see”, with gloves and not a headset. For more details on this amazing project check out the video! The Virtual Techy

Your Future Doctor Will Also Be a VR/AR Designer

Imagine having a complete diagnosis of your postoperative well-being before a surgery, health delivery at home or the medicines you'll be resistant to.  Sounds like science fiction, doesn’t it? It’s not. Trying to lay aside the traditional practices of the healthcare industry, the progress of health innovation in the last five years has been incremental. Particularly, clinical medicine has already started implementing VR and AR therapies, diagnostic tools and treatment plans that are connected to a cloud of millions of clinical cases.                   Therefore, it is not difficult to imagine in a nearer future med students “playing” with surgical robotics and VR to predict illnesses on patients as well as risk agents and develop a design-approach of your clinical path. Here is when ImmersiveTouch comes into place, the real game-changers in this respect. This pioneering company has created a platform that allows surgeons and practitioners to reconstruct sur

Virtual Reality in Education Sector

While exploring VR’s growing area of experiences, we happened to stumble across Leap Motion ’s “Cat Explorer” application. The app lets users delve into a cat’s autonomy for educational, medical, and entertainment purposes. The interesting mix of VR and education introduced us to the idea of bridging our research with our dear colleagues from Tech2classroom , who specializes in educational technology. Leap Motion’s technology is based on the idea of “ intuitive interaction ”. In fact, this is how they distance themselves from other developers. The Cat Explorer is evidently their easiest and most intuitive merchandise. Through VR, the app allows users to f ully explore all aspects of a cat’s autonomy .  It incorporates the skin outline, the muscle structure, the organs, as well as its vascular skeleton form. In addition, the platform offers the “pinch me” feature, which lets the user focus on a particular section of the cat’s body, with the possibility to discover all aspe
